We had experienced high charges and very poor service for a number of years from our previous managing agents, who were distantly located from us. The collective view from the apartment leaseholders was that we needed to replace them. It was very fortuitous therefore, that we were approached by a local Eastbourne based company, Cable Rock, and the start of when, at last, we were able to take control of our how our flats were to be managed.
Cable Rock worked extremely hard to help us achieve Right to Manage (RTM), so were then in a position to appoint our own property management company. Once engaged, Cable Rock immediately began to take proper control of the apartments and our finances; both of which were in a poor state of affairs.
What I, and all the other residents I speak to, have been most impressed with is Cable Rock’s ability to quickly action, and complete, urgently needed jobs to a very high standard, yet with a meticulous eye on our finances. Although we’re only into our second year, Cable Rock has already successfully repaired our drainage, guttering and pipework, lifts and alarm system whilst, at the same time, allowing us to build a sinking fund for future maintenance work. This has been a revelation, as many of these jobs had been ignored for some time by the previous property agents.
The team at Cable Rock are totally committed and effective in their management duties. They are approachable, easy to deal with and, more importantly, listen to the views of the residents.
I like their friendly but professional manner, their diligence in managing our finances and their attention to detail when work is carried out. Cable Rock provide us with a dedicated estate manager, who visits once a month, and they even organise an annual AGM so that we, the leaseholders, can air our views and discuss work needed to be done for the coming year.
